Just Like to know is anyone has had a similar experience to us. After
nearly 3 years of groveling to SS bending over backwards we have the result
that -

1.The child is placed 120 odd miles away from her mother.

2.Placed with Foster carers who lothe us both (relations), and have done
everthing possible to stop the mother having contact.

3.Told that while the child is on the phone to her mother I must vacate the
flat and if the child stayed the weekend I would have to go away for the
weekend. This is not because of any unsavory traits I have - just because
the child does not like me. (claims to have heard rumours about me nothing
ever done to find out what they are).

4.Told that if we had children they would automatically go into care.

5. Refused to let us view data held on us.

I thing we have a case to sue the SS on Human right grounds any comments
Thank in advance AJ & L

1/ You cannot sue using the Human Rights Act, it's not about money.
The best you could ever get is a judgement in you favour.

2/ Which article of the HRA do you think is being breached?
(I assume you actually know what the HRA is .... and is not.
Hint: article-8 is close, but see 3.)

3/ The courts will always find for the rights of the child before
your own.

4/ Reread 3.

5/ On your point 5: You might have a chance under Section 7 of
the Data Protection Act 1998, but if the data being held is
classified as "ongoing business" you don't have a hope.

6/ Reread 3.

7/ 120 miles doesn't sound far enough.

I am not SS, but I know the law.
