Well, I known where I live (Norfolk) are desperate for Social Workers and
have been recruiting from Eastern Europe, Canada and Holland.

None of them stay long though ...

Every time I look at the local government social services
manual covering all UK there are more and more senior
positions staffed by "acting" whoever and "position vacant"
It is probably worse lower down the pecking order although the
reinstatement of Lisa Arthurworrey last week may change that
an iota.
